Age Gate App provides workflow software for a storefront prompt, post-purchase ID image collection, and manual merchant review. It does not provide legal advice or guarantee compliance with any law.

Merchant responsibility

Merchants choose the minimum age, determine whether the all-orders workflow is appropriate for their catalog and markets, train staff, publish required notices, and make every approval or rejection decision. The storefront prompt is not proof of age.

Orders and fulfillment

The customer shops and pays before the ID-image prompt appears on the Shopify Thank You surface. The app can request an app-owned fulfillment hold, but Shopify plan features, fulfillment timing, another app, or merchant action can affect whether a hold exists. Merchants must verify review and order status before fulfillment.

Pricing and billing

Age Gate App charges a one-time $19.99 USD app fee for each Shopify store. The merchant must approve the charge on Shopify's hosted billing page, and Shopify handles billing. There is no recurring subscription. If Shopify reports no active purchase after a reinstall, the merchant may need to approve the charge again.

Acceptable use

Merchants may use the service only for lawful, disclosed age-review workflows. They must not upload unrelated sensitive material, use the service for covert surveillance, or ask buyers to send IDs by email.
